[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Gimcheon City announced on the 18th that it was selected as an excellent institution in the '2020 Dementia Overcoming Management Project Best Practice Competition' hosted by the Gyeongbuk Provincial Dementia Center.
This competition was held to improve the performance of dementia safety centers by discovering excellent cases of dementia prevention management and sharing information among 25 dementia safety centers in the province.
At the Gimcheon City Dementia Safety Center, to minimize the care gap for dementia elderly caused by COVID-19, seven types of monthly care kits besides cognitive physical activities were self-produced and distributed, and regular management was conducted through homeschooling.
In addition, by strengthening private resource linkage, services were expanded to provide various supports according to the needs of dementia patients, such as cane support for fall prevention and installation of gas emergency cut-off devices, through the discovery and connection of public resources, which was highly recognized.
