Gokseong-gun Receives Great Response for Providing Health Care Packages to Vulnerable Groups
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Chunsu] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 18th that since the 9th, it has been providing health care packages to more than 1,800 vulnerable health groups who find it difficult to visit medical institutions or go out due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing measures, until the end of the year.
The recipients of the health care packages are those targeted by the home health care project, including elderly living alone, seniors with mobility difficulties, and patients with underlying diseases who are vulnerable to winter health management.
The health care package items consist of KF94 masks for COVID-19 prevention, nutritional meals and supplements for the elderly, pain relief patches for arthritis, thermal gloves and non-slip socks, monthly health calendars necessary for elderly health management, and small exercise equipment such as dumbbells and figure-eight rubber tube bands for exercising alone at home.
Through these package items, the county is focusing on cultivating seniors' self-management abilities and thorough prevention of infectious diseases. They also provide support to ensure seniors are not isolated in the community by conducting limited one-on-one home visits to check on their well-being, confirm health status, provide exercise guidance, educate on health management tips for cold winter weather, and teach lifestyle rules for COVID-19 prevention, enabling them to have a healthy winter.
