Sinan-gun Secures 430 Million Won for Island Medical Equipment Improvement Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Park Woo-ryang) announced on the 18th that it has secured 430 million won in national and provincial funds from the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 'Rural Medical Service Improvement Project' and will begin improving medical equipment at island health institutions.
The Rural Medical Service Improvement Project is a program aimed at improving the poor medical environment of health institutions in medically underserved rural and fishing villages, as well as reinforcing functions such as medical equipment and vehicles.
Since the completion of facility investments, including the construction of expanded-function health centers in four locations?Ha-ui, Amtae, Hongdo, and Gageodo?with an investment of 11.9 billion won in 2018, the county is now focusing on strengthening equipment and vehicles.
With the secured budget, 45 medical devices will be added to 14 health institutions, and 9 vehicles for health projects will be purchased.
In particular, although vehicles for health projects are subject to replacement if their mileage exceeds 120,000 km, the county successfully explained the unique characteristics of island areas, resulting in vehicles older than 10 years also being included in the replacement targets.
