Hwasun Biomed Nursing Hospital Donates 10 Million Won to Hwasun Jeonnam National University Hospital
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital announced on the 17th that Hwasun Biomed Nursing Hospital donated 10 million won in sponsorship funds to help cancer patients in difficult circumstances.
Biomed Nursing Hospital, which opened in 2017, is a specialized "cancer rehabilitation nursing hospital" for cancer patients.
It is located in the Dogok Oncheon district of Hwasun and has 99 beds.
It is highly praised domestically for its unique use of hot spring water for "hydrotherapy," various thermal therapies, and a German-style integrated cancer rehabilitation program.
In particular, it was also the place where the late "national actor" Shin Sung-il, who battled lung cancer, received inpatient treatment until shortly before his passing in 2018.
Shin’s bereaved family attracted attention by donating the late actor’s belongings as a token of gratitude.
Director Kim In-gyu, a rehabilitation medicine specialist who graduated from Chonnam National University Medical School, has had ties with the hospital, including working as a fellow for one year at Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital.
He said, “Many people are suffering due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. In these difficult times, I am striving to actively practice the motto ‘giving courage to patients.’ Hwasun Chonnam National University Hospital is a reliable guardian of health. I wanted to contribute even a small amount of support to give hope to cancer patients.”
