[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] On the 17th, Kim Chang-ryong, Commissioner of the National Police Agency, visited the integrated headquarters of the Metropolitan Investigation Unit and the Intelligent Crime Investigation Unit at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to check the preparation status for responsible investigations by field police officers and to encourage the staff.
This on-site inspection was conducted ahead of the enforcement of the amended Criminal Procedure Act, which includes the adjustment of investigative authority between the prosecution and police, granting the police primary authority to conclude investigations starting January 1 next year.

Commissioner Kim emphasized, "We will complete the responsible investigation system to actively meet the expectations and hopes of the public."
