"Receive Medical Consultation via LINE" LINE Doctor Launched in Japan
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Naver's subsidiary Line is launching an online medical consultation service in Japan.
The joint venture company "Line Healthcare," established through joint investment by Line and M3 Corporation, announced on the 17th that it will start "Line Doctor" at some medical institutions in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
Line Doctor is an online medical consultation service that allows users to search for hospitals, make reservations, receive consultations, and make payments all at once through Line. Users can have consultations with doctors via video calls. Anyone with the Line app can use it for free. However, costs for prescribed medications and delivery fees are separate.
The medical institutions where this service is available can be checked on the service page. Line Doctor plans to improve the service based on feedback from users and medical institutions.
Line Healthcare, established in January last year, is based on Line's user base of 86 million monthly active users (MAU) in Japan, over 290,000 doctor members who account for about 90% of Japanese clinicians through "m3.com," and more than 190,000 pharmacist members, representing the majority of pharmacists in Japan.
It operates its medical business by leveraging the medical expertise of the M3 Group, which provides service solutions such as Japan's largest comprehensive medical media "QLife" and medical consultation service "AskDoctors."
