Idus '4th Handmade Award' Successfully Concludes
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheolhyun] Backpacker (CEO Kim Donghwan), which operates the online handmade market 'Idus,' announced on the 17th that it has concluded the '4th Idus Handmade Awards.' The Idus Handmade Awards (HMA) is an event where Idus' artists and customers, who have contributed to the development and popularization of the handmade industry, gather to commemorate their achievements. This year, it was held non-face-to-face online (YouTube live broadcast).
This event, now in its 4th year, presented awards in a total of 105 categories, doubling compared to last year. Various outstanding artists were awarded in fields such as Grand Prize, New Artist Award, Popular Artist Award, Customer Communication Award, Customer Trust Award, and Customer Support Award. Idus presented plaques and souvenirs to all awardees. An online special exhibition of the winning artists' works is also planned.
The Grand Prize was awarded to 'Cake Factory,' which specializes in handmade cakes. Cake Factory, with about 20,000 Idus fans, is known for creating distinctive cakes such as appreciation plaques, money bags, characters, and photo prints. In May, it achieved monthly sales of 500 million KRW, recording the highest sales among Idus artists this year.

Currently, a total of about 21,000 artists are registered on Idus, selling 300,000 works, and based on this, the cumulative transaction amount exceeded 410 billion KRW last month, growing more than twice year-on-year every year. Kim Donghwan, CEO of Backpacker, said, "As this event marks its 4th year, we hope it will become a major event representing the world beyond Korea in the future," and added, "We will do our best to repay the artists and customers who have been with Idus so far with better services."
