Jeju Coast Guard Investigates Fatal Accident Involving Worker Colliding with Forklift on Cargo Ship
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters (Jeju) Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Maritime Police Station (Chief Go Min-gwan) announced on the 17th that it is investigating a fatal accident that occurred during work inside a cargo ship docked at Jeju Port on the afternoon of the 16th.
According to Jeju Maritime Police Station, around 3 p.m. on the 16th, at Pier 11 of Jeju Port, forklift operator Mr. B, who was working on cargo on the cargo ship C (5,000 tons, registered in Mokpo) operating between Jeju and Mokpo, collided head-on with his colleague Mr. A, whom he failed to notice, resulting in Mr. A's death.
Emergency responders from 119 who received the accident report rushed to the scene, but Mr. A was confirmed dead.
