Goheung-gun Focuses on Identifying Welfare Crisis Households through Linking 'Volunteer Service and Private Resources'
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Jeonnam Goheung-gun announced on the 15th that it has prepared a comprehensive plan for discovering and supporting vulnerable households in winter and will focus all efforts on eliminating welfare blind spots until February next year by intensively identifying vulnerable households and providing customized services.
In particular, this winter, with the cold wave and the COVID-19 pandemic, households facing livelihood, housing, and medical crises are somewhat expected. Based on big data, the county will thoroughly identify vulnerable households reported to the welfare blind spot discovery system as well as those found through visiting welfare services and personal safety networks.
The discovered vulnerable households will be actively supported to resolve welfare crises by linking not only public support such as emergency aid, basic living security, basic pension, welfare for the disabled, and care services for the elderly and disabled, but also private resources such as sponsorship goods, living expenses, housing environment improvement, and volunteer work through case management tailored to each recipient.
A county official said, “Everyone should become a personal safety network for our neighbors and actively look for households in need of help around them. If there are households in need, please contact the Ministry of Health and Welfare call center, Bokjiro, Goheung-gun Resident Welfare Division, or the customized welfare team at the nearest eup/myeon office.”
