Goheung-gun to Fully Launch 'Smart Yeonhongdo Development'... Scheduled to Start in December
Selected for Ministry of the Interior and Safety Public Contest, 1.3 Billion KRW Invested
Establishing ICT-Based Immersive Experience Facilities Including Muviculture Platform and EduSportainment
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 15th, Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that the final business operator for the ICT-based Smart Yeonhongdo Development Project, selected in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's '2020 Smart Service Support Project Utilizing Advanced Technology' contest, has been chosen and the project will be actively promoted.
This project aims to use advanced ICT technology to solve problems faced by rural fishing villages through local resident-led initiatives, improve quality of life, and establish a sustainable future-oriented economically independent village.
On September 24th, the county held a screening committee meeting at Heungyang Hall in the county office to select the proposal company, choosing VTC Co., Ltd. as the preferred negotiation partner. After technical and price negotiations and contract signing, the project is scheduled to commence in December.
With a target completion date of April next year, a total project cost of 1.3 billion KRW, including 600 million KRW in national funds, will be invested in the Yeonhongdo area of Geumsan-myeon, Goheung-gun. The plan includes establishing an 'Island Village MuviCulture Platform,' 'Goheung-style Edu Sportainment,' 'Happy Yeonhong Local Food,' and 'ICT-based Smart Village Broadcasting Service.'
In particular, the Goheung-style Edu Sportainment Center will demolish the existing tourist information center building and construct a new two-story building with a total area of 48 pyeong (approximately 159 square meters). The first floor will house a local food direct sales market, VR experience facilities, and a tourist information center, while the second floor will feature the MuviCulture platform and a rest area.
The Island Village MuviCulture Platform is a media art service that uses CG to depict the four seasons of Goheung-gun three-dimensionally on all walls inside the experience center. Utilizing advanced ICT technology, various video contents of Goheung-gun will be created, allowing visitors to experience unique video art of Goheung-gun.
The Edu Sportainment service uses advanced IT technology (VR) to offer an immersive story experience where participants ride a submarine and explore the mysterious underwater world of Yeonhongdo, providing new enjoyment for family tourists.
Additionally, a smart docent service capable of 360-degree panoramic VR and storytelling voice commentary will be available, along with a Yeonhong Local Food sales center selling eco-friendly food products produced on Yeonhongdo to generate income for residents.
Furthermore, a smart village broadcasting system will be established by installing speakers in 55 households on the island to ensure accurate information delivery and resolve hearing blind spots.
To ensure smooth project implementation, the county plans to establish the Yeonhong Living Lab Platform, involving specialized coordinators from various fields and residents to secure project stability and ensure continuous system operation and management in the future.
County Governor Song Guigeun stated, "We plan to continuously develop resident income-generating services to make this a standard service model for economically independent future villages where all residents prosper," emphasizing, "We will make Yeonhongdo a happy island for residents and a vibrant island that attracts visitors."
