Daedong Industrial established the Future Business Promotion Office this year to realize future agriculture by integrating ICT technology, AI technology, and agricultural big data, aiming to become a global leader in future agriculture. Additionally, it is accelerating technology and product development by forming an industry-academia-research network.
To review various business models related to growth in the future agriculture field and to lead the market, Daedong Industrial explained that it appointed distinguished experts in agriculture, agricultural machinery, mechanical engineering, and management as advisors, divided into three sectors: ▲Precision Agriculture ▲Autonomous Mobility ▲Management Innovation.
In the Precision Agriculture sector, they invited Professor Kim Yonghyun of Jeonbuk National University, president of the Korean Society of Agricultural Machinery, Professor Kim Changgil, Special Appointment Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Sociology at Seoul National University (former president of the Korea Rural Economic Institute), and Professor Yeo Hyun, director of the Agricultural IT Convergence Support Center at Suncheon National University.
In the Autonomous Mobility sector, the advisory group includes Yeo Jungoo, president of the Korea Institute of Robot Convergence (KIRO), Professor Kim Hakjin of the Department of Bio-systems and Materials Science at Seoul National University, and Professor Kim Kyungsoo of KAIST Mechanical Engineering, who is also the director of the Cho Cheon-sik Green Transportation Graduate School.
For Management Innovation, advisors include Kim Hongjin, former president of KT and advisor to Daedong Industrial, Ko Taesoon, former president of NongHyup Capital, Professor Park Heejun of Yonsei University’s Industrial Engineering Department, and Executive Director Cho Sungwoo of Deloitte Anjin.
According to Daedong Industrial, they plan to rapidly execute key future agriculture projects such as autonomous agricultural machinery, smart agriculture solutions, agricultural robots, and walking mobility by collaborating with the advisory group from various technical and business perspectives. They also plan to expand the industry-academia-research network for future agriculture, review diverse business models, and strengthen business capabilities by promoting future agriculture forums and expert lectures.
Meanwhile, to raise social awareness and interest in the necessity and importance of future agriculture, they plan to communicate and engage with agricultural stakeholders through various channels.

Won Yoohyun, CEO of Daedong Industrial, said, "Through organic cooperation with the advisory group, we will enhance Daedong’s future agriculture capabilities and explore various business opportunities," adding, "We will appoint additional experts to the Future Agriculture Advisory Group to establish it as a leading expert group in domestic future agriculture, contributing to the development of agriculture in Korea."
