Infraware Polaris Office Selected as Apple App Store's '2020 App of the Year'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] InfraWare, a specialist company in office software (SW), announced on the 15th that ‘Polaris Office’ has been selected as Apple App Store’s ‘Best of 2020’ Popular App for the fourth consecutive year.
Apple announces popular apps every year by comprehensively aggregating evaluation indices such as App Store download numbers, reviews, usefulness, and importance.
Polaris Office was selected in the iPad category for the ‘Best of 2020’ paid and free popular app charts. Polaris Office Mobile was selected in the paid popular chart, and Polaris Office was selected in the free popular chart.
Polaris Office is a cloud-based office SW that allows editing of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Hangul and PDF documents with a single app, without the hassle of installing multiple programs. Earlier this year, it surpassed 100 million global subscribers, and currently, more than 100 million users worldwide are using the service.
Polaris Office Mobile is a service optimized to use the office software used on PC on mobile devices as well. On Android and iOS operating systems, it perfectly reads and edits all file formats including MS Office, Hangul, and PDF.
An InfraWare official said, “Since COVID-19, as remote work and online classes have become routine, Polaris Office, a global leader in office SW, is being widely used for remote meetings and shared document editing,” adding, “More than 50,000 new users join daily, establishing it as an essential app for remote work and smart work.”
He added, “Through continuous SW updates, we will provide office services that meet users’ needs even in the post-COVID-19 era.”

Meanwhile, InfraWare recently released a new version of Polaris Office for Mac. Reflecting the inconveniences of existing Mac version users, the UI (user interface) was improved, product stability enhanced, and various new features added. In particular, the addition of Hangul (HWP) document editing functions and the application of a UI familiar to HWP users focused on strengthening the usability of HWP on Mac PCs.
