Yeonggwang-gun Selected as 'Best Institution' for Korean Medicine Health Promotion Project
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seongseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 15th that the 2020 Korean Medicine Health Promotion Project was selected as the 'Best Institution' in the Jeollanam-do evaluation.
The Korean Medicine Health Promotion Project operated various programs tailored to life cycle targets, including the Korean Medicine Menopause Health Class, Korean Medicine Childcare Class, Brain Health Protection Class, Disabled Home Visit Health Management Project, and Osteoarthritis Prevention Class.
Despite difficulties due to the suspension of programs caused by the spread of COVID-19, the county achieved its target volume, and many programs that were difficult to conduct face-to-face were modified to increase the number of visits through customized small-scale and small group outreach, achieving results.
In particular, the Disabled Home Visit Health Management Project, aimed at improving the health of disabled people living at home, received high marks for improving quality of life by linking the health center rehabilitation room with a team of Korean medicine doctors, visiting nurses, and physical therapists to prevent disability-related complications through Korean medicine intervention, exercise, and daily life management.
