HDC Group Announces Executive Personnel Changes
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] HDC Group has carried out the regular executive appointments for 18 people in 2021.
HDC Group announced on the 15th that it has appointed Kim Sung-eun as Vice President of HDC I Controls, Lee Sung-yong and Choi Ik-hoon as CEOs of Hotel HDC·HDC Resort and Real Estate 114 respectively, and Lee Hyung-jae and Cho Young-hwan as CEOs of HDC I&Cons and HDC I'Park Mall respectively, effective from the 21st.
Regarding the background of this personnel appointment, HDC Group explained that amid the accelerating economic crisis due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the focus was on selecting talents who will lead future new growth engines by pursuing organizational stability while strengthening new business platforms. To this end, they actively appointed progressive young leaders and female talents rich in fresh ideas.
Lee Sung-yong, who will newly lead Hotel HDC and HDC Resort as CEO, plans to focus on strengthening collaboration and support systems so that the hotels and resorts owned by HDC Group can create synergy, improving profitability through unique competitiveness and achieving management efficiency.
Choi Ik-hoon, CEO of Real Estate 114, has previously promoted the full-scale renovation of I'Park Mall as CEO of HDC I'Park Mall. CEO Choi plans to expand business areas by developing new solutions using Real Estate 114’s big data business and platform content.

A senior official of HDC Group stated, “While accelerating development into a comprehensive financial real estate group, we plan to focus on new challenges such as real estate finance business using REITs and energy development projects,” adding, “We will devote all efforts to innovating customer experience through collaboration among HDC Group affiliates and developing it into a new business platform to build a sustainable growth foundation.”
