Chain Infection from Church Spreads Widely... 2 More Cases Related to Gwangju Seongil Church
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Two additional confirmed cases related to a church were reported overnight in Gwangju Metropolitan City.
According to Gwangju City on the 15th, as of midnight the previous day, two more people tested positive, classified as Gwangju cases 826 and 827.
This brings the total confirmed cases reported the previous day to five. The cumulative number of confirmed cases is 827.
The confirmed cases 826 and 827, residing in Dongnim-dong, Buk-gu, are both linked to case 810, who is related to Gwangju Seongil Church, according to health authorities. The infection route of case 810 has not yet been identified.
During the previous day, there were three transmission cases linked to case 810: cases 823, 826, and 827, indicating a pattern of church-related chain infections spreading.
Health authorities conducted diagnostic tests on 71 individuals, including Gwangju Seongil Church members who had contact with case 810. As a result, 31 tested negative, and some are still awaiting results.

Currently, the number of confirmed cases related to churches in the Gwangju area is 23, including 7 at Nam-gu G3 Center, 6 at Songha Gospel Church (including 2 in Jeonnam), 6 at Gwangju Dongyang Church, 3 at Gwangju Seongil Church, and 1 at Seorim Church Suwan Worship Hall.
