Gwangju Office of Education Hosts Online '2020 Gwangju Teachers' Arts Festival'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education announced on the 14th that it is holding the ‘2020 Gwangju Teachers' Arts Festival’ to prepare cultural and artistic performance plans for the post-COVID-19 era and to expand opportunities for teachers and staff to enjoy culture and the arts.
The ‘2020 Gwangju Teachers' Arts Festival’ was conducted as an online performance featuring a small number of participants to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Office of Education is providing performance video content such as music, dance, and theater, which were pre-recorded, on its YouTube channel.
Sixteen teachers' clubs from within the district participating in this year’s Gwangju Teachers' Arts Festival showcased a variety of performances including acoustic guitar ensembles, Buk dance, Samulnori, Nanta, orchestra, vocal music, singing, reading plays, line dance, saxophone performances, traditional Korean orchestral music, and choir.
Celebrating its 38th year this year, the Gwangju Teachers' Arts Festival has become an opportunity for teachers and staff to share the results of their cultural and artistic capacity development.
Furthermore, the creative passion of teachers striving for a happy life through art is expected to be directly conveyed to students, serving as a great force to transform schools into happy spaces.
