Jeonnam Fire Department Develops and Distributes 'Water Supply Equipment' to Prevent On-Site Safety Accidents
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Fire Department has developed and distributed water supply support equipment that can prevent safety accidents at the scene.
Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) announced on the 14th that the Jeonnam 119 Edison Club developed a fire hose that can be conveniently used at water supply sites and distributed it to fire stations in the province.
At the equipment donation ceremony on the day, Park Seokho, president of the Jeonnam 119 Edison Club, and members demonstrated the usage to representatives from 16 fire stations in the province at Hwasun Fire Station.
The firefighting equipment called the ‘Water Tank Supply Nozzle,’ developed by 13 members of the Jeonnam 119 Edison Club, helps prevent safety accidents such as falls by fixing the nozzle during water supply work at high locations.
Previously, workers had to climb a 3m water tank ladder and hold onto a hose spraying water at high pressure while hanging, which caused safety accident risks such as falls and significant physical strain.
The newly developed equipment improves these issues by allowing the hose to be fixed to the water tank using screws on the attached fixing device, enabling safe and rapid water supply work even under increased water pressure without holding the hose by hand.
