People Power Party says to ruling party's 'COVID Special Committee' proposal, "Apology should come first"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] On the 14th, the People Power Party responded to Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, proposing the activation of the 'COVID-19 Overcoming Special Committee' by saying, "When did you treat us like invisible people, and now you want to shift the responsibility?"
People Power Party spokesperson Bae Jun-young stated this in a verbal comment on the same day, saying, "It is simply disheartening."
Spokesperson Bae sharpened his words, saying, "They fully embraced K-quarantine as the regime's spoils, but now that the situation has reversed, they probably want to throw it away. They also want to shift the responsibility to the opposition party."
He criticized, "So far, the People Power Party has done its best to overcome COVID-19, but the Democratic Party has destroyed the 70-year tradition and ethics of the legislature and treated the opposition party like invisible people." Spokesperson Bae raised his voice, saying, "Recently, they changed the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Agency (HCIA) Act by a rushed vote, and the agenda adjustment committee, which should last up to 90 days, was dealt with in less than 90 minutes. The filibuster, which was supposed to give the opposition a chance to speak, was silenced by an 'all-in' vote just yesterday."
