Dongui University Holds 'UX and Service Design' Workshop
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Dong-Eui University (President Han Su-hwan) University Innovation Support Project Group (Director Jo Jae-kyun) and the Specialization Project Group (Director Shin Byung-chul) hosted the "Busan HCI-UX-AI Industry Revitalization UX·Service Design Workshop," which was organized by the Busan UX-AI Research Association (President Professor Lee Jae-in of Dong-Eui University’s Human-Systems Design Engineering Department) and held on November 27th at 10 a.m. in Room 515 of Jicheon Hall at Dong-Eui University.
The event was sponsored by the Korean HCI Society (President Professor Lee Joong-sik, Seoul National University) and the Korean Ergonomics Society (President Professor Yoon Myung-hwan, Seoul National University). Attendees included Jeong Sun-hee, CEO of S-Cube Design Lab, Kang Deok-yong, Head of Korea Research, Professors Heo Jeong-yoon and Yoo Eun-soon of Kookmin University, Professor Kim Seong-hee of Dong-Eui University’s Industrial ICT Technology Engineering Department, and over 50 undergraduate students from Dong-Eui University and Kookmin University.
HCI stands for Human-Computer Interaction, and UX means User Experience. At the workshop conducted through the activities of the Busan UX-AI Research Association, participants explored directions for revitalizing Busan’s UX and service design as well as the regional HCI-UX-AI industry.
Third-year students from Dong-Eui University’s Human-Systems Design Engineering Department presented the results of their team projects, which included △a recruitment service for amateur sports activities △improvements to dormitory laundry services △a system to promote imperfect agricultural products △a happiness support PLATFORM for small business owners △a missing child prevention service △a coordinator recommendation service △a helmet rental service △and a nurse work improvement service.
Head Kang Deok-yong and Professor Heo Jeong-yoon introduced trends, cases, and methodologies in UX and service design. They also held discussions and made proposals on ways to revitalize tourism services in the Busan area, including "Busan Subway Travel" and "Virtual Busan Travel Enjoyed from Seoul."

Dong-Eui University, as part of its specialization project, held the "Post-Corona Era HCI-UX-AI Linked Industry Revitalization Seminar" on August 12th and is seeking ways to revitalize linked industries with the participation of experts from regional universities, the Busan City University Cooperation Group, and companies.
