Mass COVID-19 Cases Linked to Churches in Gwangju... Daily Case Count Sets New Record
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Overnight, a large number of COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Gwangju Metropolitan City, surpassing the highest daily new case count recorded this month.
According to Gwangju City on the 14th, as of 8 a.m. that day, there were 22 new confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Adding to the 11 cases announced the previous day (Gwangju cases 801?811), 11 more cases occurred, classified as Gwangju cases 812?822.
Among these confirmed cases, six individuals (cases 812?814, 818?820) are church members in Nam-gu who attended the same service as case 802, a pastor residing in Gyeonggi-do, who had visited the church.
Case 815 was classified as a contact of case 788, and cases 816?817 are related to case 306 in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, according to health authorities.
The infection routes for cases 821?822 are under investigation.
