View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 14th that it distributed five KF-94 masks per person to about 40,000 residents as social distancing in the province was raised to level 2 and the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was on the rise.
The county began by distributing about 32,000 KF-94 masks, two per person, to 16,015 people including adults aged 65 and over, basic livelihood security recipients, and lower-income groups in March.
It urgently provided about 1,500 KF-94 masks to 785 people, including 471 children at 12 daycare centers in the area, 35 children at one child care facility, and 279 preschool-aged infants and toddlers.
In September, as a proactive administrative measure to prevent COVID-19, 130,000 medical masks were provided to 8,189 basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income groups.
In November, following the enforcement of mandatory mask-wearing, despite difficult circumstances in securing mask supplies, about 82,000 KF-94 masks were urgently distributed, five per person, to approximately 16,533 adults aged 65 and over and students vulnerable to infectious diseases.

Seo Chun-soo, the mayor of Hamyang-gun, urged residents to refrain from gatherings and appointments until the end of the year to prevent the occurrence of COVID-19 in the county, and announced that 408 senior citizen centers in the area will remain closed until the COVID-19 situation ends.
