Gimcheon-si Allocates 900 Million Won Budget for Returning Farmers... Up to 10 Million Won Support for 63 Farms
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Gimcheon City, Gyeongbuk Province announced on the 11th that it will actively support local settlement by allocating a budget of 900 million KRW next year to actively attract return-to-farming and return-to-village migrants.
Gimcheon City secured 200 million KRW for the "Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Attraction Support" project through a public contest by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and plans to invigorate the 7th term administration’s pledge projects by operating various urban resident attraction programs.
In addition, including the Rural Development Administration’s education budget to support systematic education for prospective returnees such as basic farming return education and on-site training for new farmers, the city secured 83 million KRW for the return-to-farming startup activation support project.
Gimcheon City plans to select 63 households through its own project and provide 5 to 10 million KRW per household to support return-to-farming settlement and farm house repair costs.
