Dongshin University Professor Learning Center Holds 'Non-face-to-face Shoulder-to-Shoulder and Guide Summary Meeting'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Dongshin University’s Teaching and Learning Center announced on the 11th that it held the ‘2020 Fall Semester Shoulder-to-Shoulder & Guide Program General Review and Outstanding Group Awards Ceremony’ on the 10th at Haein Building 6 on campus.
The ‘Shoulder-to-Shoulder & Guide’ program is designed for teams of senior-junior or peer students to engage together in in-depth study of major and liberal arts courses, foreign language proficiency tests, and certification acquisition studies, thereby enhancing self-directed learning abilities and employment competencies.
In the second semester of this year, due to the spread of COVID-19, the program was conducted non-face-to-face using the Learning Management System (LMS) community, with a total of 31 teams and 115 enrolled students participating, including 6 teams of international students.
At the event, each team shared the achievements they accomplished over 9 weeks, and outstanding groups were awarded.
The Nursing Department’s ‘Eurachacha’ team won the Grand Prize, the Nursing Department’s ‘A+ Special Forces’ team and one other team received Excellence Awards, and the Korean Language Teaching Major’s ‘Jaemiinneun Hangukeo’ team along with 9 other teams received Encouragement Awards.

Im Su-jin, head of Dongshin University’s Teaching and Learning Center, said, “There were many concerns about students’ learning motivation and competency improvement as non-face-to-face classes continued, but it seems we achieved satisfactory results by actively utilizing various media,” adding, “We will continue to provide and support learning opportunities suited to the untact era for students.”
