Dentis Obtains Medical Device Approval for 'New Denture Material'
[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] Dentis has become able to launch a new denture material for dental 3D printers.
Dentis announced on the 10th that it had finally obtained medical device approval for the new denture material for dental 3D printers on the 9th.
The newly approved 'ZENITH 3D Printer Denture Material' minimizes special additional costs or technical factors related to maintenance and management. It is a solution that enables fast and precise digital denture distribution.
Dentis has focused on research and development of dedicated materials and compatible software based on its proprietary technology for 3D printer development. Following the first domestic approval of Class 2 temporary material manufacturing in 2017, it has now finally obtained approval for denture material.
A Dentis official explained, "This approval was achieved under very strict approval standards for output materials used inside the oral cavity, and in a situation where obtaining approval for denture materials is difficult."
Dentis plans to develop and seek approval for various dedicated materials by leveraging the denture material. A high-strength resin launch is scheduled for the first half of next year.
