Gwanak-gu, Online 'Depression Prevention Laughter Therapy' Course to Overcome COVID-19 Blues
YouTube Jeongsin Geongang Bokji Center Channel Uploads: Watch Anytime, Anywhere, Anyone... Supporting Hobby Activities and Providing Various Resources for Mental Health Improvement
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is conducting an online "Depression Prevention Laughter Therapy" course to help residents overcome COVID-19-related depression during the prolonged pandemic.
Due to ongoing social distancing measures, residents' anxiety, depression, and stress have increased, creating a need for depression prevention and mental health promotion education. However, the risk of infection has made it difficult to operate appropriate programs.
Accordingly, the district is offering non-face-to-face lectures through the Gwanak-gu Mental Health Welfare Center's YouTube channel, allowing anyone to watch regardless of time and place.
The "Depression Prevention Laughter Therapy" course consists of a total of 10 lectures, which will be uploaded sequentially and completed by the 11th.
The lectures cover various topics in each session, including the effects of laughter and how to laugh: ▲ relaxing facial muscles to laugh naturally ▲ discovering one's own laughter sound ▲ boosting self-esteem through mirror laughter practice ▲ laughter therapy to overcome COVID-19 ▲ laughing using everyday tools.
Meanwhile, the Gwanak-gu Mental Health Welfare Center's YouTube channel also provides various video materials for mental health promotion, including hobby activity support courses such as ▲ yoga classes ▲ craft classes ▲ music classes, as well as courses on insomnia solutions, stress relief, and parent-child relationship improvement.
