Gwangyang-si Selects 5 Outstanding Proposals in This Year’s ‘Youth Policy Suggestion Contest’
2 Teams Win Excellence Award, 3 Teams Receive Encouragement Award... Expanding Youth Policy Participation and Opportunities
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City announced that it has selected five outstanding proposals in this year’s ‘Youth Policy Proposal Contest.’
The contest was held last October to expand opportunities for local youth to participate in city administration and to hear citizens’ voices on city policies. A judging committee was convened on the 25th of last month to evaluate the submitted proposals.
The judging committee consisted of four members recommended respectively by the Child-Friendly City Division of City Hall, Gwangyang Office of Education, Gwangyang Youth Culture Center, and Gwangyang Youth Counseling Welfare Center.
Out of the eight proposals received, the committee evaluated them based on feasibility, creativity, effectiveness, and content completeness, selecting two teams for the Excellence Award and three teams for the Encouragement Award.
Certificates and prize money will be delivered through the schools to which the awardees belong. The selected outstanding proposals will undergo final review by the relevant departments and will be reflected in Gwangyang City’s policies and budget.
