KOTRA Hosts Overseas Promotion Fair for Korean Consumer Goods Companies... Sales Surpass 13 Billion Won
Cooperation with 115 Overseas Distribution Networks in 28 Countries
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] KOTRA announced on the 3rd that it held overseas promotional events for 3,980 consumer goods companies in cooperation with 115 overseas distribution networks in 28 countries to globally advance the '2020 Korea Sale Festa (Kosefe)' held from the 1st to the 15th of last month.
KOTRA promoted domestic consumer goods brands by partnering with global distribution networks such as ▲Amazon (North America and Europe) ▲Taobao (China) ▲Tmall (China) ▲JD.com (China and Southeast Asia) ▲Rakuten (Japan) ▲Shopee (Southeast Asia) ▲Lazada (Southeast Asia) ▲Qoo10 (Japan and Southeast Asia) ▲Watsons (Hong Kong) ▲Wildberries (Russia).
In particular, in Southeast Asia, KOTRA operated an O2O showroom for Korean consumer goods in connection with the 'ASEAN Hallyu Expo (November 2?13)' and simultaneously conducted digital marketing using local influencers. The total sales amount tentatively tallied by KOTRA so far has surpassed $11.75 million (approximately 13 billion KRW).
Sendo, the 4th largest online shopping mall in Vietnam participating in the promotional event, recently recruited a Korean e-commerce expert. Cho Hyun-wook, Vice President of Sendo, said, "Through the online and offline promotional events linked to Kosefe, we induced offline customers to transition online," adding, "In the Vietnamese market, promotions should be considered both as a marketing tool and a brand development strategy, requiring mid- to long-term investment."

Kwon Pyung-oh, President of KOTRA, stated, "Starting with the Kosefe global project, we are helping Korean small and medium-sized enterprises achieve greater export results in the global online market," and added, "We will actively establish a one-trade office, one-distribution network cooperation system to help our companies overcome the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19)."
