Eunpyeong-gu Hosts 'Challenge! Online History Golden Bell'
Recruitment of Participants from November 30 to December 14... Event to be Held on December 19 at 2 PM
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Eunpyeong-gu will hold the 'Challenge! Online Golden Bell' on the 19th at 2 PM to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the independence war during the Japanese colonial period, targeting elementary school students and their families.
To prevent COVID-19, the event will be broadcast live on the Eunpyeong-gu Office YouTube channel, and participants will receive a link to access the quiz.
Participants will join the competition individually from their homes using computers, laptops, or smartphones.
This competition, with a total prize of 4 million KRW, includes the Daehan Prize of 500,000 KRW (1 winner), the Independence Prize of 300,000 KRW (5 winners), the Manse Prize of 100,000 KRW (10 winners), and the Baekchowol Prize of 50,000 KRW (20 winners), and will determine the top history experts among Eunpyeong-gu children and families.
Participants will be recruited for two weeks from November 30 to December 14 on the Eunpyeong-gu Office website (Citizen Participation - Application Plaza - Challenge Online Golden Bell Application).
Each team consists of one elementary school student and family members (at least 2 people in total) participating from their respective homes, and family members engaged in historical research or related work are not allowed to participate.
To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the armed anti-Japanese struggle, the ‘Herstory Masil Cooperative’ will prepare questions on the history of the independence movement during the Japanese colonial period and issues related to the Eunpyeong-gu region, with preliminary questions provided on the Eunpyeong-gu Office website.

Kim Mi-kyung, Mayor of Eunpyeong-gu, said, “This event was organized to provide a pleasant and safe historical experience for elementary school students and their families who have been exhausted by COVID-19,” and added, “We hope for active participation and interest from the children and families of Eunpyeong-gu.”
Meanwhile, Eunpyeong-gu is also conducting a history quiz called 'TokTok! Eunpyeong Golden Bell' via KakaoTalk.
From November 30 to December 14, participants can solve history questions about the Japanese colonial period on the KakaoTalk channel ‘Eunpyeong Golden Bell’ to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the independence war together.
Those who wish to participate can search for ‘Eunpyeong Golden Bell’ on KakaoTalk, add the channel, and solve the quizzes using the provided hints.

Participants can easily verify their participation in the KakaoTalk chatroom, and the first 150 participants and 100 winners selected by lottery will receive small prizes after the event ends.
