Gyeongbuk Uiseong Kim Sayoung Hanwoo Farm Wins 'Presidential Award' at National Livestock Product Quality Evaluation

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongbuk Province announced on the 2nd that the Uiseong Kim Sa-young Hanwoo farm won the highest award, the Presidential Award, at the "18th National Livestock Product Quality Evaluation Awards" hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Livestock Products Quality Evaluation Service.
Since its inception in 2003, the "National Livestock Product Quality Evaluation Awards" is an event that selects and awards farms that have produced the highest quality Hanwoo, pork, beef cattle, and eggs over the course of a year.
The Evaluation Awards Selection Committee analyzed the grading results of livestock products shipped by farms from September last year to August this year, conducted on-site inspections, and finally selected a total of 15 awardees, including the Uiseong Kim Sa-young farm.
The Uiseong Kim Sa-young farm, honored with the Presidential Award, currently raises 275 Hanwoo cattle (109 breeding cows, 105 steers, and 61 calves) together with his son. During this year's evaluation period, they shipped 31 Hanwoo steers, achieving a 90.3% rate of 1++ grade or higher in meat quality, which is an impressive 74.6 percentage points higher than the national average of 15.7%. Additionally, all 31 shipped steers received a meat quality grade of 1+ or higher, demonstrating excellent results.

Meanwhile, the "National Livestock Product Quality Evaluation Awards Ceremony," originally scheduled to be held on the 3rd at the headquarters of the Livestock Products Quality Evaluation Service, was canceled. The plaques and prize money for the awardees will be delivered through the Daegu Gyeongbuk branch of the Livestock Products Quality Evaluation Service.
