BTS Becomes First Group to Simultaneously Top Three Main Billboard Charts in the US
No. 1 on 'Artist 100' Following 'Billboard 200' and 'Hot 100'
Thirteenth Top Spot... Surpassing Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran
The group BTS has simultaneously dominated three main categories on the US Billboard charts. Following their success with albums and singles, they also topped the 'Artist 100' chart, which reflects overall recognition.
On the 1st (local time), Billboard reported that BTS ranked first on this week's 'Artist 100' chart. This marks the thirteenth time BTS has reached the top of this chart, making them the sixth most frequent chart-topper among all artists. They surpassed Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran, who have each held the number one spot twelve times.
The driving force behind their immense popularity is their new album 'BE' and its title track 'Life Goes On.' Both topped this week's 'Billboard 200' and 'Hot 100' charts, acting as catalysts for their success. Only nine artists, including Drake, Taylor Swift, Adele, and Ariana Grande, have simultaneously held the number one position on the 'Billboard 200,' 'Hot 100,' and 'Artist 100' charts. BTS is the only group to achieve this feat.
'BE' continues to break new records daily. It is the first Korean-language album to reach number one on the 'Hot 100,' and all tracks except one have appeared on this chart. It also topped the Japanese Oricon weekly album chart with approximately 191,000 copies sold. On the UK Official Albums Chart, it ranked second. Additionally, 'Life Goes On' secured the 10th position on the Official Singles Chart, marking BTS's second highest placement on that chart, continuing their streak of success.
