Amid ongoing controversy following the announcement of the Gimhae New Airport verification results, Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, stated this on the 1st at a provincial government executive meeting, urging unwavering focus on the construction of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated New Airport.
The governor said, "The verification results of the Gimhae New Airport indicate that a review of technical and procedural issues in the Gimhae New Airport plan is necessary, but it does not mean cancellation," and emphasized, "We have a long way to go. Do not be swayed by political turmoil and focus solely on the construction of the integrated new airport."
He continued, "To ensure the success of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated New Airport, securing many international flight routes is the most important," and urged, "We must mobilize all our capabilities and concentrate on building a proper airport for us."
