Gwangju Gwangsan-gu Supports Hospitals Installing Respiratory Specialized Clinics
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 27th that it has provided subsidies to five hospitals that applied to install 'Respiratory Dedicated Clinics.'
This support is part of Gwangsan-gu's citizen immunity enhancement project, aimed at completely separating the hospital routes of patients with respiratory symptoms from other visitors so that citizens can use hospitals with peace of mind without worrying about COVID-19 infection.
Previously, the Ministry of Health and Welfare recommended installing one respiratory dedicated clinic per 100,000 population.
As of early this month, the hospitals that applied to install respiratory dedicated clinics are KS Hospital, Hanam Seongsim Hospital, Gwangju Suwan Hospital, Gwangsan Suwan Mirae Children's Hospital, and Gwangsan Hana Children's Hospital, totaling five hospitals.
The district provided a total subsidy of 570 million KRW to these hospitals.
The five hospitals will proceed with the installation of respiratory dedicated clinics by the end of next month.
Afterward, the district will designate the respiratory dedicated clinics following on-site inspections. Citizens with respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, and sore throat will be able to receive primary care at these respiratory dedicated clinics as early as the beginning of next year.
At the respiratory dedicated clinics, dedicated doctors will safely distinguish COVID-19 from colds and flu during the initial examination.
If COVID-19 is suspected, a cooperative system with screening clinics will be established to conduct specimen tests and other procedures.
If diagnosed with other respiratory illnesses such as colds or flu, treatment and prescriptions will be provided at the clinic.
