The ‘Blue Lighthouse DGB Social Contribution Foundation Donation Scholarship’ is awarded to university students enrolled in universities located in Daegu and Gyeongbuk who fall under the 3rd or lower tuition support category and have records of social contribution activities.
This year, over 180 university students applied, and about 20 students were selected to receive a scholarship of 1.2 million KRW per person. The scholarship fund was created from the 1% salary donation of DGB Financial Group employees.
Since 2018, the DGB Social Contribution Foundation has signed a business agreement with the Korea Student Aid Foundation and has been donating scholarships to support university students in Daegu and Gyeongbuk. In particular, this year’s scholarship carries a message of support for Daegu and Gyeongbuk students facing difficulties in their studies due to COVID-19, and expresses the hope that local talents will contribute to regional development, fostering a virtuous cycle of sharing activities.
