KOSPI Declines Further Amid Net Selling by Foreigners and Institutions
KOSDAQ Index Maintains Upward Trend
[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] The KOSPI is widening its decline amid net selling by foreigners and institutions.
As of 11:47 AM on the 30th, the KOSPI stood at 2618.54, down 0.57% (14.91 points) from the previous trading day. The KOSPI opened at 2648.05, up 0.55% (14.6 points) from the previous day, but turned downward early in the session and has maintained a declining trend since.
In the KOSPI market, foreigners and institutions net sold stocks worth 523.7 billion KRW and 246.9 billion KRW respectively, while individuals alone purchased stocks worth 776 billion KRW.
Most of the top market capitalization stocks are showing declines. Samsung Electronics recorded 67,700 KRW, down 0.73% from the previous session. SK Hynix (-0.40%), LG Chem (-1.36%), Samsung Biologics (-0.38%), Samsung SDI (-2.18%), and Kakao (-1.21%) also fell.
The KOSDAQ index at the same time was at 888.20, up 0.30% (2.64 points) from the previous day. In the KOSDAQ market, individuals alone net purchased stocks worth 210 billion KRW, while foreigners and institutions sold stocks worth 89.9 billion KRW and 104.8 billion KRW respectively.

Among the top market capitalization stocks, Celltrion Healthcare and Celltrion Pharm rose 6.66% and 3.65% respectively. Genexine (2.48%), KMV (2.09%), and Pearl Abyss (0.19%) also increased.
