View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation announced on the 27th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the joint development of renewable energy projects to create a Korean-style Green New Deal Smart Green Industrial Complex with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power and KT.
The Smart Green Industrial Complex project aims to transform industrial complexes into low-carbon, eco-friendly energy production bases to establish clean industrial complexes. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation are leading the execution of this project.
On this day, the three organizations pledged continuous cooperation to jointly promote the renewable energy fuel cell project, which is part of the Smart Green Industrial Complex execution strategy, and to expand it to industrial complexes nationwide.
The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation has been promoting the fuel cell power generation project with KT through the Industrial Complex Environment Improvement Fund for the modernization of aging industrial complexes. This agreement was signed to systematize cooperation between related organizations and the private sector to expand fuel cell infrastructure, a core axis of the hydrogen economy industry, to industrial complexes and to successfully transition to Smart Green Industrial Complexes.
Fuel cells are eco-friendly distributed power sources that can produce a large amount of renewable energy electricity even when installed on a small scale in industrial complexes where electricity usage is high and space is limited.
