Joo Ho-young: "Choo's Suspension of Yoon's Duties Will Remain a Dark Chapter in Constitutional History... Moon Is More Problematic"
[Asia Economy reporters Lee Ji-eun and Kim Hye-min] Joo Ho-young, floor leader of the People Power Party, criticized Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae's suspension of Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol, saying it "will remain a dark chapter in constitutional history," and pointed out that President Moon is an even bigger problem.
On the 25th, Joo held a meeting of lawyers and legal professionals within the People Power Party at the National Assembly main building and said, "Minister Choo's unreasonable behavior and outrage are problematic, but President Moon, who tacitly approves and, in a way, enjoys it behind the scenes, is a much bigger problem."
Joo said, "What is wrong with Prosecutor General Yoon telling them not to delay investigations into the living power?" and added, "If President Moon doesn't like it, he should take political responsibility and dismiss him himself. They might go through the disciplinary grounds and dismissal request procedures again, but that is too cowardly."
He emphasized, "This is a deplorable incident that will remain a very dark chapter in our constitutional and legal history," and said, "The entire previous administration was mobilized to try to oust the Prosecutor General on unreasonable grounds."
Joo criticized, "Minister Choo and the ruling party are trying to get inside Prosecutor General Yoon's head and are guessing everything that is not a fact, claiming political motives," and said, "All ruling party members, including Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party, and Kim Tae-nyeon, floor leader, are criticizing and belittling Prosecutor General Yoon for baseless reasons."
