Kia Motors Relaunches Subscription Service 'KiaFlex'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Kia Motors announced on the 24th that it will relaunch its car subscription service, KIAFLEX.
'KIAFLEX' is Kia's first subscription service that allows customers to operate vehicles by paying a monthly subscription fee without any deposit for vehicle rental or various taxes associated with vehicle ownership. Based on the previous pilot operation, the service is being newly renewed with the introduction of new features.
First, the service vehicle lineup will be expanded from the existing models?K9, Stinger, Mohave, Niro, and Soul electric vehicles?to include three popular new models: the 4th generation Carnival, Stinger Meister, and Sorento Hybrid. Additionally, the service will be extended to the Busan area. In Busan, the service will start with the K9 model and plans to expand to other models depending on demand.
The renewed service will also offer car life-related benefits such as discount coupons for 'InstaWash,' a premium on-demand car wash service, and 'Itcha,' a real-time valet parking service available in busy weekend areas.
In particular, separate from the subscription vehicles, customers can use the Carnival Experience service once a month for up to 72 hours, during which they can additionally rent a car carrier from 'Thule,' a specialist vehicle carrier company.
Furthermore, the existing services, including unlimited charging cards for electric vehicles and a 50,000 KRW monthly discount for customers using the 3-month bundled plan for long-term users, will continue to be provided.
To commemorate the service renewal and express gratitude to customers, Kia will hold an event until the 31st of next month, offering coffee coupons and a 10% subscription fee discount coupon to new subscribers.
Notably, this renewal launch incorporates UMOS, a vehicle call, sharing, and subscription integrated service platform developed by 42dot, an autonomous driving and mobility startup in which Kia made a strategic investment in 2019. This platform will enable the expansion of customized services that reflect customer needs.
