A 20-Year-Old Who Violated Self-Quarantine and Used KTX Fined 5 Million Won

On the 22nd, Judge Oh Gyu-hee of the Criminal Division 3 at the Busan District Court announced that she sentenced Ms. A, a woman in her 20s indicted for violating the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act, to a fine of 5 million won.
Ms. A visited a club in Busanjin-gu, Busan, in the early morning of April 18. The health authorities confirmed that a COVID-19 positive case had visited the same club on that day and notified Ms. A to self-quarantine at her residence until May 2.

However, on April 27 around 5 p.m., Ms. A left her residence without a valid reason, took the KTX train from Busan Station to Suwon, and returned to Busan Station by KTX the next day around 4 p.m., thereby violating the self-quarantine order.
