Gwangju Dong-gu Selected for Oral Health Center Installation Contest
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 20th that it has been selected for the Ministry of Health and Welfare's '2020 National Subsidy for the Establishment of Public Health Center Oral Health Centers' and will convert the public health center's oral health room into an oral health center for operation.
The oral health center, which opened on October 30, was established with a project cost of 180 million KRW, including a state-of-the-art oral health education equipment training room, a treatment space enhanced for the convenience of vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, and an oral health project office.
In particular, the training room is equipped with the latest equipment such as 'Mirror TV' with a specialized tooth brushing program for oral disease prevention and management, a 'halitosis meter,' a 'phase contrast microscope' for observing bacteria, and an 'oral mucosa moisture meter.'
Previously, to establish a private cooperation system within the region, last month Dong-gu Dental Association and 11 dental medical institutions signed a business agreement. Through this agreement, a strengthened oral health management system for people with disabilities and vulnerable groups in the district has been established.
