The Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Ministry of Personnel Management held the '2020 Active Administration Best Practice Competition' on the 18th at the main auditorium of the Government Sejong Complex.
This event has been held since 2016 to discover active administration cases and spread them throughout the public service community. Local public corporations and corporations also newly participated this year.
Seoul Facilities Corporation submitted the ‘Smart Safety Alert System,’ introduced to prevent safety accidents occurring in confined spaces at construction sites, as a case study and was recognized for active administration, receiving the Grand Prize, the Prime Minister’s Award.
The ‘Smart Safety Alert System,’ introduced by the corporation since July, is a system that installs harmful gas and rainfall detection sensors and danger alarms throughout confined space construction sites to prevent accidents in advance.
The corporation expects that the introduction of this system will enhance the safety of construction sites.
Additionally, the corporation produced an introductory video related to the ‘Smart Safety Alert System’ to help citizens and construction stakeholders understand it better.
The video can be viewed on the Seoul Facilities Corporation YouTube channel.
This year, the corporation is conducting various innovative attempts at construction sites, including the full introduction of remote video conferencing and the public disclosure of methods to improve temporary pedestrian passageways at construction sites.
Jo Seong-il, Chairman of Seoul Facilities Corporation, said, “We will continue to do our best to faithfully fulfill the corporation’s fundamental roles of efficient operation of major infrastructure and meticulous safety management, while providing better public services to citizens.”
