[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hye visited the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) site in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk Province on the 19th to check the preparation status for the CSAT along with a safety inspection of school facilities.
On this day, Deputy Prime Minister Yoo, together with Gyeongbuk Provincial Superintendent of Education Lim Jong-sik, visited Gyeongju Girls' High School, where they focused on disaster response measures, including trying on disaster helmets worn to protect the head in the event of an earthquake, seemingly keeping in mind the 2017 Pohang earthquake.
The Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education has strengthened safety inspections of test sites in the Gyeongju and Pohang areas this year through a joint effort between the Ministry of Education and private experts regarding the CSAT.
Superintendent Lim Jong-sik reported to Deputy Prime Minister Yoo, stating, "Seismic accelerometers have been installed at each test site in the Pohang and Gyeongju areas to closely monitor earthquake situations," and added, "Professional counselors will be assigned to the test sites in Pohang and Gyeongju to provide psychological stability for the examinees."
