Flood Recovery of Hangang Railroad Bridge Underpass Section on Gangbyeonbuk-ro ... Normal Operation in Both Directions
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Heavy rain poured down on the way to work in Seoul, causing severe traffic congestion as some sections of the Gangbyeonbuk-ro in Seoul were closed.
According to the Seoul Traffic Information Center, from around 7:50 a.m. on the 19th, both directions of Gangbyeonbuk-ro from Mapo Bridge to Hangang Bridge were temporarily closed, and all restrictions were lifted around 8:40 a.m.
Due to poor drainage of rainwater on the road near Hangang Railroad Bridge on Gangbyeonbuk-ro, some sections were flooded, resulting in traffic being restricted from 8:00 a.m. to 8:20 a.m. toward Guri and from 7:50 a.m. to 8:40 a.m. toward Ilsan.

The police explained that vehicles heading toward Guri were detoured from Mapo Bridge to Gongdeok, and those heading toward Ilsan were detoured from the northern end of Hangang Bridge toward Ichon-dong. As of 9:10 a.m., after drainage work was completed, traffic in both directions is operating normally.
