According to Shinsegae Department Store on the 19th, last month’s bedding sales at Shinsegae Department Store increased by nearly 30% compared to the same period last year. Bedding directly contacts the body and greatly affects a good night's sleep. As single-person households increase, many people in their 20s and 30s are seeking high-quality sleep products.
First, the bedding brand ‘Bean Collection’ makes winter silk cotton quilts by thinly spreading boiled silkworm cocoons and stacking them layer by layer. The silk cotton, which stretches so thinly that it is almost transparent, has a high density, strong heat retention, and excellent moisture absorption and release capabilities. The bedding brand ‘The Chosun Hotel,’ used in the Chosun Hotel suite rooms, also offers popular Polish all-season goose down. The Polish goose down is quality-controlled directly by the Polish government and produced locally.
Along with goose down quilts, new functional materials are gaining attention. The Danish bedding brand ‘Nordic Sleep’ uses a new material called ‘Phosflake.’ This material causes less irritation than similar synthetic products and maintains temperature for a long time. All products use no animal materials, preventing allergies or skin troubles.
As customers increasingly enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking and camping instead of indoor activities, demand for functional outdoor clothing has also greatly increased. In October alone, Shinsegae Department Store’s outdoor sales grew by 27% compared to the same period last year.
Recently, the outdoor brand ‘K2’ released the Thin Air padding jacket. This jacket has no quilting lines on the back, preventing heat from escaping or cold air from seeping in, providing excellent warmth. It is also machine washable, which is an advantage for hygienic management. Additionally, ‘The North Face’ Snow City padding uses highly functional materials suitable for sports activities, offering excellent waterproof and water resistance, and the yarn contains air, making it lightweight.
Meanwhile, Shinsegae Department Store Chungcheong branch will hold a ‘Discovery Neon City Megashop’ pop-up from the 20th to December 3rd. This pop-up offers discounts up to 60% and sells products such as Home Bolt Down and Bucket Walker Original. To celebrate the opening event, customers who purchase over 100,000 won will receive a mask strap as a gift.
