View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Woo-kwon] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam announced a comprehensive plan for the Gimhae-type New Deal project, investing 811.1 billion KRW by 2025, on the 18th.
The Gimhae-type New Deal project corresponds to the Korean New Deal in preparation for the post-COVID-19 era, promoting 54 projects in three areas: digital, green, and social safety net reinforcement. The plan is to invest 811.1 billion KRW from next year until 2025 to create 3,262 jobs.
The city also operates a task force led by Vice Mayor Kang Deok-chul to ensure the successful implementation of the project. The digital New Deal includes a total of 32 projects such as 5G, artificial intelligence (AI) digital new business support, and support for revitalizing non-face-to-face industries.
The green New Deal consists of 17 projects, including the creation of green-friendly living infrastructure and the expansion of low-carbon energy projects. The social safety net reinforcement includes 5 projects, with the expansion of public Wi-Fi construction projects being representative.
The top 10 core projects include the spread of smart factories, establishment of a foundation for fostering the non-face-to-face medical device industry, and the construction of a smart safety monitoring system. The city plans to actively participate in public contests related to regional balanced New Deal projects to secure national funding.

Mayor Heo Seong-gon stated, “In accordance with the government’s comprehensive Korean New Deal plan to respond to the rapid socio-economic structural changes caused by COVID-19, we will do our best to successfully implement the Gimhae-type New Deal comprehensive plan reflecting the region’s industrial base and human and material resources.”
