87 Students from 6 Universities Participate
[Asia Economy Reporter Jihee Kim] The Mercedes-Benz Social Contribution Committee announced on the 17th that it has successfully concluded the 13th session of the educational program "Mercedes-Benz Mobile Academy Career Development Workshop," which helps university students majoring in automotive-related fields with career planning and job preparation.
The Career Development Workshop is one of the activities of the industry-academia cooperation program "Mercedes-Benz Mobile Academy," which provides Mercedes-Benz's technological expertise and global educational know-how to domestic university automotive departments. It has been held annually since 2014 to offer practical assistance to students aspiring to work in automotive-related fields after graduation.
This 13th Career Development Workshop was conducted in a visiting workshop format at each university instead of the previous 3-day, 2-night training center format to prevent the spread of COVID-19. From the 2nd, over 12 sessions, 87 students from six universities nationwide?Yeoju University, Yeungnam University, Jeonju University, Ajou Motor College, Shinhan University, and Daelim University?participated to explore job selection and career development opportunities.
In particular, this workshop introduced various job roles through videos and interviews with staff in a non-face-to-face manner, and invited professional mentors working at regional official Mercedes-Benz dealerships to provide practical employment information and mentoring. Additionally, mock interviews similar to actual interviews were conducted to help students improve their interview skills. Participants set their desired job roles and career goals and developed competency development plans accordingly as part of the program.
