Jungnang-gu Selected as 'Best District' in Seoul Eco Mileage Evaluation for 5 Consecutive Times
Various Efforts Including Eco Mileage Enrollment, Solar Panel Installation Support, and Building Energy Efficiency Projects
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has been selected as the top district for the 5th consecutive time in the Seoul Eco Mileage evaluation.
The district announced that it achieved the honor of being selected as the top district in the Seoul Eco Mileage evaluation conducted over six months from April to September, targeting 25 autonomous districts in Seoul.
Eco Mileage is a compound word of eco (environmentally friendly) and mileage (accumulation), referring to a voluntary energy-saving resident participation program that encourages reducing energy consumption such as electricity, city gas, and water usage in households and businesses.
The evaluation was comprehensively conducted across seven categories including ▲new member registration ▲interest of institution heads ▲member information management ▲promotion, and the district received consistently good results in each category.
In particular, the district gained high praise for promoting the "We Are Eco Mileage Family" project, which informs and encourages participation in Eco Mileage during moving-in registration, and for operating Eco Mileage education programs focused on energy saving and greenhouse gas reduction targeting schools, daycare centers, and kindergartens in the area.
The district has also received positive responses from residents by implementing various energy-saving projects such as the experiential education program for youth called "Visiting Climate Change Education," support for solar panel installation, and building energy efficiency projects.
Moreover, to spread energy saving, the district has actively worked to inform residents about practical energy-saving methods in daily life by conducting energy reduction education and distributing informational leaflets.
