Korea National Oil Corporation Collaborates with KTCS 114 to Provide Voice Guidance Service on Fuel Prices for IT Vulnerable Groups
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Korea National Oil Corporation (President Yang Soo-young) has expanded its fuel price information service through the ‘114’ inquiry system.
Operated by the Oil Corporation, Opinet has partnered with KTCS 114 to provide the ‘114 Fuel Price Information Service,’ which offers voice guidance on the lowest-priced gas stations and other fuel price information via phone for IT-disadvantaged groups who have difficulty using IT devices.
Currently, the 114 fuel price information service has about 50,000 users annually. By calling area code + 114 (mobile), users can receive real-time information on local gas stations, including business names, locations, phone numbers, and selling prices.
Starting November 12, the existing 114 fuel price information service will be expanded and reorganized to additionally provide information on tax-exempt fuel for agricultural use.
With the addition of tax-exempt fuel information through 114, IT-disadvantaged groups such as elderly people in rural areas will be able to find high-quality and affordable gas stations more easily and conveniently.
A representative from the Oil Corporation stated, “Going forward, the corporation plans to collaborate with private companies such as startups to offer various services, eliminate information blind spots, and ensure that all citizens can conveniently access fuel price information.”
