Amorepacific Group Executive Personnel Changes... Kim Seunghwan Appointed as Holding Company CEO
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Amorepacific Group announced on the 12th that it has carried out its 2021 regular executive appointments involving a total of six people, including the promotion of one vice president and one executive director. These appointments will take effect from January 1 next year.
Regarding this personnel reshuffle, the group explained that it aimed to actively respond to the rapidly changing management environment of the new era by strengthening the core competencies of each organization with a 'customer-centric' approach to improve the overall corporate management structure.
In this reshuffle, Kim Seunghwan, Head of Group Human Resources and Organization Office and Head of Amorepacific HR Organization Unit, was promoted to Vice President and CEO of the holding company Amorepacific Group. The newly appointed CEO Kim will lead Amorepacific Group and lay the foundation for a new leap forward by improving the management structure of domestic and overseas subsidiaries and affiliates.
Since joining Amorepacific in 2006, he has served as Head of Management Strategy Team, Head of Amorepacific Group Strategic Planning Division, and Head of Group Human Resources and Organization Office. Since 2013, he has been in charge of the Amorepacific Group Strategic Planning Division, successfully establishing new overseas subsidiaries and expanding business in China. Based on these achievements, he has driven the group's global sales high growth. In 2015, he took charge of the Group Strategy Unit, overseeing business strategies for domestic and overseas subsidiaries and affiliates of Amorepacific Group.
Jung Hyejin, Executive Director and Head of Amorepacific Premium Brand Unit, was promoted to Executive Director and Head of Amorepacific Laneige Brand Unit. Park Youngho, Executive Director and Head of Amorepacific R&D Unit (Technical Research Institute), was promoted to Executive Director. Lim Joongsik, CEO of Espoir (Senior Executive Director II), was promoted to Senior Executive Director I and Head of Amorepacific Sulwhasoo Brand Unit. Hwang Youngmin, Senior Executive Director II and Head of Amorepacific China Regional Headquarters (RHQ) Strategy Innovation Unit, was promoted to Senior Executive Director I and Deputy General Manager of Amorepacific China RHQ. Kevin Wang, Head of Amorepacific China RHQ Strategy Innovation Unit E-commerce Division, was promoted to Senior Executive Director II.
This personnel reshuffle focused on integrating sales strategy functions covering all domestic and overseas channels into the existing brand organizations, which were mainly marketing-oriented, to enhance business competitiveness centered on brands and promote close collaboration. Additionally, differentiated organizational structures and operational methods tailored to the characteristics of each brand were introduced to solidify and accelerate independent growth by brand.
Furthermore, to strengthen the growth foundation from a mid- to long-term perspective, new organizations were established to research and implement innovative product development, build smart factories based on technological innovation, and promote production competitiveness improvement.
An Amorepacific Group official explained, "Through this organizational restructuring, we plan to make every effort to overcome today's crisis and lay the foundation for a new leap forward."
