Kim Tae-nyeon: "North Korea Should Refrain from Provocative Actions Exploiting US Administration Transition"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Kim Tae-nyeon, the floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said on the 12th, "We strongly urge North Korea to refrain from provocations or accidental actions caused by misjudgment during the transition period of the U.S. administration."
At the policy coordination meeting held at the National Assembly that morning, Floor Leader Kim stated, "Since U.S. President-elect Joe Biden aims to resolve issues through negotiation and diplomacy, progress in inter-Korean relations has become important. North Korea's cooperation is necessary to complete the framework of the new policy."
He then urged North Korea to engage in inter-Korean dialogue. Floor Leader Kim said, "North Korea should immediately respond to the inter-Korean dialogue on health and medical cooperation proposed by the Ministry of Unification," emphasizing, "The two Koreas must open the way to break the tense deadlock and shift the situation on the Korean Peninsula to a stable peace phase. Starting with humanitarian cooperation and dialogue, inter-Korean relations must be normalized promptly."
