[Exclusive] Seok Dong-hyun Recommended by People Power Party: "No One But God Can Defeat Pastor Jeon Kwang-hoon's Momentum"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] It has been revealed that Seok Dong-hyun, a lawyer nominated by the People Power Party as a candidate for the head of the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit (PCC), attended the '2020 Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam Pastors and Laypeople New Year Prayer Meeting and National Rally' invited by Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon earlier this year and said, "Pastor (Jeon Gwang-hoon), in my view, no one but God can stop his momentum."
According to a YouTube video on the 12th, at a prayer meeting held at BEXCO in Busan on January 16, Lawyer Seok said, "When Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon was almost arrested last time but wasn't, I thought he would speak more gently when he came out, but he became even more spirited and said everything he wanted to say. Does that make you feel relieved?"
He continued, "The current regime is very desperate. The Ulsan mayor corruption case is not a simple matter," and criticized, "It is a very bad act that pollutes the election system, which is the foundation of democracy, and the president and those around him schemed various things to get the desired result."
Lawyer Seok also said, "President Moon Jae-in said at a press conference the other day that the prosecution has investigative authority, but I have personnel authority. Does that make any sense?" and added, "The worst thing about this left-wing regime is that if you touch me or my side, they won't leave it alone. How should we deal with this left-wing regime that has no law, principle, dignity, or conscience?"
He went on, "The upcoming April 15 general election is not just an election to elect a few members of the National Assembly. It is a very important election on which the future and fate of the Republic of Korea depend," and said, "Although the Liberty Korea Party's election preparations are somewhat shaky, they will eventually succeed."
He emphasized, "Those around you, including family members, should be able to vote properly. It should not just end with saying 'Amen, Amen.' Only then will the meaning of patriotic prayers offered with voices full of resentment by Pastor Jeon Gwang-hoon and many other pastors come alive."
In August last year, Lawyer Seok attended a 'Moon Jae-in Resignation' rally and said, "If it helps national security, I will become a pro-Japanese collaborator." Regarding this, Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung posted on Facebook titled "The People Power Party's pro-Japanese PCC chief candidate recommendation is a mockery of the people."
In response, Lawyer Seok also wrote on Facebook on the 12th under the title "To Governor Lee Jae-myung," saying, "You called me a pro-Japanese PCC chief candidate, but whether I become the PCC chief or not, it is not 'shut up and be pro-Japanese.' I said that as long as it helps our country's security and the interests of the people, we should cooperate with Japan where cooperation is possible and maintain good relations."
He added, "If Governor Lee also falls out of favor with the regime, he could be summoned and investigated by the PCC with just one complaint from a civic group. That is why I said the PCC could become a monster."

On the same day, Joo Ho-young, the floor leader of the People Power Party, criticized Governor Lee in a meeting with reporters, saying, "How can he say such a low-level remark?" Floor leader Joo said, "He distorted the statement that he would willingly become a pro-Japanese collaborator for the sake of the Republic of Korea," and added, "How can someone who learned the same Korean language and Hangul not understand that?"
